skinny laminx

If you haven’t heard of Skinny LaMinx designs there’s a good chance you’ve seen them, on cushion covers, shopping bags, wrapping paper, cards – they’re just too beautiful to be restricted to one medium.

The delicate, wonderful artwork comes from the mind of Heather Moore, a self-taught illustrator who turned her hobby into a blooming little business. ‘I just like to make things,’ she says, with most of her work beginning as designs cut into paper or vinyl then reproduced onto other materials.

Her small shop in Bree Street belies the scale of the impact her designs have had around the world. Influential magazines like Martha Stewart Living, Country Living and Frankie have highlighted her work and the praise keeps coming. The stereotypical view of success is not what drives her though; her vision is to create a world class local design brand, with materials and skills sourced at home. The good news: she’s well on her way already.
